Effective 04/01/2024
Diasporic Healing LLC is fully committed to performing and engaging in activities in alignment with the NASW (National Association of Social Work) Code of Ethics; this includes the creation and delivery of program content and engaging with training participants. While we work diligently to assure this alignment, to ensure fair and ethical treatment of all who participate in our training spaces, and make efforts to anticipate concerns or problems, we have created this policy to address concerns that may arise and require intervention.
In the event a grievance concerns a speaker, their content, or their presentation style, we will ask the individual filing the grievance to put their comments in writing and submit to learn@diasporichealing.com. The CE director will then pass on these written comments to the speaker, while maintaining the confidentiality of the individual.
In the event the grievance concerns the workshop itself (including its content, the level of presentation or the facilities), the CE director will be the mediator and final arbitrator of these concerns. We will ask the individual filing the grievance to put their comments in writing to learn@diasporichealing.com. Should action be required, the CE director will either a) provide a credit towards the next scheduling training, or b) issue a partial refund of the training tuition fee.
In the event the grievance concerns the Diasporic Healing CE program specifically, the CE director will attempt to arbitrate. We will ask the individual filing the grievance to put their comments in writing and send it to learn@diasporichealing.com for review and action.
In addition to noted above, the Social Work Consultant will be involved in all grievance resolutions for social workers.
All grievances will require a written note documenting the grievance and will be maintained for recordkeeping purposes; signature by the aggrieved individual is not required.
Participants have up to 5 days from the date of the training to submit grievance concerns in accordance with this policy. Diasporic Healing LLC will make every effort to respond to written grievances in up to 14 days from date of receipt. An arbitration notification can be expected within 30 days of resolution of the matter.
